My Life here...a Slice of the Spice

Hey folks.... :) Thanks for trying to keep my blog alive with comments and responses. I was half-expecting you guys to write in one-liners saying "I am at work now, nee yenna panre?" or something along those lines...

Hmm, how did you all enjoy yourselves during Deepavali??? My studies are going good. Toooooooo much to do, and barely enough time to do it. We have both theory as well as field work, so it is all very interesting, but awfully, awfully tough....I have a couple of submissions this week, and on Monday too, so konjam overwork pannindu irukken. Merciful breaks are usually in the form of movies, and up until now I have watched "Hotel Rwanda", "The Third Wheel", and "Oru Kallooriyin Kadhai". The first is one I would recommend you all watch, the second is a prime example of the art of wasting time---and i mean the movie-makers as well as the people who watch that kind of nonsense, and the third movie on the list is for anyone interested in the magnifique essence of Arya and all that is him. Should warn you that there is absolutely NOTHING else of importance in that particular movie...

For Deepavali, we roomies did some puja and I read from my copy of the Bhagwad Gita yesterday....then we also lit up the patio of our apartment with scented candles and lamps....It was pretty. The perfect evening was topped off with the perfect Shashank and his mastery with the flute. Plus, I saw "Nandaa" last night for the first time....Can imagine how Surya matured in that movie. That's thrice that I have seen him in those kinds of roles, methinks.....(by the way, i heard that the word "thrice" has been removed from the dictionary due to lack of use?? For me, it's now exactly like in "Swami and Friends", so I use it really very often now that it I hear is a scarcely used word.....Lol. Ikkarai kku akkarai pachai, I guess....) :)

Inga nalla fall properaa aarambichiduthu ....so the tree colours are just awesome, with lots of reds and yellows and purples on the foliage.....Weather is chilly, but pleasant and manageable. I still wear a jacket and also shoes, to keep out the cold, but I also have funky socks and I play around with them. Ore the fashion bug dhaan, naa inga.... loL :P....Haha...Seri, naan kalambaren. I promised Gireesh that I would write something for my blog this week---sort of get it started again....So I hope this hasn't been like a boring email...Give me some time, guys!!! I am still getting used to writing for blogs properly and also writing for different kinds of presentations---technical papers, emails to different people, letters to home, and of course, the all-time fave---scribbled notes on post-its. Haha...Things DO tend to get confusing, you know. Anyways, me jagaa vaangings.

Love + hugs,
Aarth..
